DRA ABU EL NAGA SITE IMPROVEMENT AND THEBAN TOMB CONSERVATION
Capacity: Management
DESCRIPTION
The Dra Abu el Naga necropolis contains tombs from the Middle Kingdom to the Roman Period including a few royal tombs. To attract tourists to the area the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities requested Theban Tomb number 159 (TT159) and Theban Tomb number 286 (TT286) be conserved and restored and to be opened to the public. Dr. Khadija Adam developed and implemented the conservation, engineering and architectural plan for the tombs. The project received much media attention upon completion.
