Capacity: Consultant
DESCRIPTION
The Qurna site Tombs of the Nobles on the west bank in Luxor are either clustered in groups of three (3) tombs close together or as singular, individual tombs throughout the Qurna area. To attract larger groups and to take advantage of newly discovered tombs, the introduction of a tomb “complex” that consists of a cluster of many tombs and would be easier to access.
The “Qurna North Complex” would accommodate large groups. With minimal interjection, thirteen (13) tombs could be prepared and added to the number of tombs already prepared for visitors to accept large groups of visitors (i.e., large busses). As part of the complex, there will be a designated shaded staging area that will contain new mastabas. Here, the tour leader can lecture their groups while the visitors rest in the shade on mastaba benches. The site will contain signage, solar powered security lighting, tomb lighting and improved access.
